In this entry-by-audition class, dancers aged 14 – 18 years can develop their creative and personal potential, performing a repertoire of both professional and student-directed work.

Pointy Dog Dance Company provides an opportunity for dedicated young dancers to train, create and perform together. Running for over 15 years, the company works with professional dancers and choreographers to train in contemporary dance techniques, choreography and performance skills.

In this class, dancers aged 14 – 18 years can develop their creative and personal potential, performing a repertoire of both professional and student-directed work in a number of professional forums including Tempo Dance Festival, Auckland Arts Festival and their own end-of-year showcase.

Please Note: This class is 'student's only' to allow the students to retain focus and gain independence.

Jessie McCall

Jessie is a freelance dancer, choreographer, teacher and producer. She graduated from Unitec with a Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts majoring in Contemporary Dance, and studied contemporary technique and choreography at the University of North Carolina in the USA. She has choreographed work for Footnote Dance Company, Okareka Youth Project, Tempo Dance Festival, NZ Fringe & Auckland Arts Festival, as well as various independent works. Jessie is the founder of All You Can Eat Productions, Artistic Director of Pointy Dog Dance Company, and Curator of Short + Sweet Dance NZ. In addition to teaching at TAPAC, Jessie tutors contemporary dance at Unitec.
