Using a sword and shield together has proven to be a fantastic way to defeat the enemy. One arm providing defence and one arm providing the attack. Most cultures around the world at some point had this weapon style.

Single handed broad swords are most commonly referred to as “Viking swords” ; these are often used in conjunction with a large shield. But they can also be used on their own.
During this 3 day holiday program you will learn some basic attack and blocks & progress to some super fun and engaging fight choreography using a Viking sword & shield

Fun and safe, this stage combat programme for ages 8+ will teach you unarmed and armed stage combat techniques as you practice a choreographed Viking battle.

Led by professional stunt people/tutors from The New Zealand Stage and Screen Combat School, you’ll discover how to use your body to tell a story physically with your body, facial expressions and vocalisation. You’ll analyse existing fight scenes to see how the professionals do it and you’ll discover how to safely perform combat manoeuvres using visual illusions and timing.
